Some reasons you lose your hair

Hair loss troubles many men in all ages and there is normal hair loss, where you lose a small number of hair every day, seasonal hair loss, where you lose a lot of hair for a certain time and for various causes and the permanent one, which exists in many categories like Androgenetic Alopecia (baldness), Alopecia and more.

Below are some reasons why your hair might drop you and you might not know them.

There is the possibility of losing hair if you have recently suffered some intense stress, such as an accident, a serious illness, etc. However, you are not going to lose these hairs, since once this stress has passed, your body will begin to regrow the hairs that have fallen before.

Excessive vitamin Α intake

According to a study published at the American Dermatology Academy [1], when someone takes too much vitamin A, he may experience a hair loss. However, here too, these hairs will grow back, when you are getting normal levels of Vitamin A.

You may lose hair if you take too much protein every day. On the other hand, a diet that is low in protein can affect hair growth by destroying healthy hair and stopping the body to produce new hair. Also, a sudden dietary change in order to lose many pounds, can stress the body and lead to hair loss. Sudden- hair loss can also be a sign of poor nutrition such as bulimia or anorexia [2]. Make sure to include meat, fish, eggs and lentils in your diet as they help hair growth.

Hypothyroidism is another reason that causes hair loss [3]. You start to lose hair when your thyroid does not produce enough of its hormones. But here, when the problem is over, the hair will go out again normally.

Overactive immune system

A hyperactive immune system can cause hair loss and in particular a condition called alopecia areata [4]. The immune system perceives the hairs as a foreign body and attacks them as a result of falling.

There is a research that claims that taking certain medications, such as pressure or antidepressants, can cause hair loss [5]. If you suspect that a medication you are taking causes you hair loss, discuss it with your doctor to reduce its dosage in order to reduce hair loss and/or regrow your hair.

Hair Products

Excessive use of chemical hair styling products can cause hair loss. If you see a lot of hair on your comb when you use some products, try to reduce them to see if it is due to this product.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

Polycystic ovarian syndrome causes an imbalance in female sex hormones where it can cause hair loss [6]. By correcting the problem, the hormones returns to their normal levels and the hair growth begins.
