Dating apps are ‘leaking’ your location data

A new study on dating sites, shows that photos posted by their users in their profile, can leak various information for the user to someone who knows how to see this information.

This research indicates that inside the pictures someone takes with his smartphone (or his camera), is “hidden” the coordinates (GPS), indicating in short the exact location where each photo was taken. According to the study, 20 to 25% of dating sites do not remove the information from their user’s photos, so someone can know where you are working, living or even drinking your coffee.

However, as noted in the study, the “industry” of dating sites is serious about it and most sites will remove sensitive information soon.
